Shelly's Farm Fresh
Pasture-raised eggs · Sonoma County
Shelly's sells pasture-raised eggs from flocks that forage on open pasture in Sonoma County. Pasture-raised is the most substantive egg production claim — the hens actually spend time outside on grass, which produces yolks noticeably more orange and flavorful than even cage-free or free-range commercial eggs. The difference is visible before you crack the egg. Shelly's is one of the most recommended vendors at Noe Valley for shoppers doing a weekly breakfast haul.
WHAT THEY BRING
Pasture-raised chicken eggs Duck eggs (seasonal) Quail eggs (seasonal)
Location: Sonoma County
Method: Pasture-raised — hens on open grass rotation

Hummus Heaven
Housemade hummus & Middle Eastern spreads · San Leandro
Fresh, small-batch hummus made without shelf-life extenders or stabilizers. The difference between Hummus Heaven and commercial hummus is textural — theirs is smooth without being gluey, and the chickpea flavor is present rather than buried under additives. Rotating flavors include roasted red pepper, beet, and za'atar. A staple at Noe Valley for shoppers who use hummus as a weekly pantry item.
WHAT THEY BRING
Classic hummus Roasted garlic hummus Beet hummus Baba ganoush Pita bread
Location: San Leandro, CA

Triple Delight Blueberries
Specialty blueberries · Placer County, CA
Triple Delight grows multiple varieties of blueberry in the Sierra Nevada foothills, where the combination of hot days and cool nights produces berries with exceptional sugar-acid balance. They extend the season by staggering their variety plantings. Their blueberry jam — made from same-farm fruit — is frequently called out by Noe Valley regulars as one of the best things sold at the market. The season is relatively short, which is why it generates excitement when they appear.

ABOUT THIS MARKET

The Noe Valley Farmers Market has been running since 2003, when the neighborhood's local natural foods store closed unexpectedly and residents organized a volunteer-run market as a direct replacement. It is operated primarily by volunteers from the neighborhood — one of the few SF markets with that structure. The market is centered on Noe Valley Town Square, a small plaza on 24th Street with a playground, which gives it a distinctly family neighborhood character.

With about 15 vendors, it is one of SF's smaller markets, but regulars prize it for its walkability and community feel. One of its notable vendor relationships is with Drewes Bros. Meats — at 3 blocks from the market, California's oldest operating butcher shop (est. 1889) — whose presence gives the market a dimension of local food history that most markets can't claim. Live music runs most Saturdays.
