Obour Foods is a specialty prepared foods vendor known for their signature hot curry hummus — a cross-cultural combination that has found a loyal following at North Beach and other SF markets. The product is house-made in small batches. Their range of dips and spreads draws on Middle Eastern and South Asian cooking traditions. Chef Martin Yan and Tony Gemignani were at the ribbon-cutting for North Beach's expanded market location in 2021.

Seasonal Produce Farms
Rotating farms · Bay Area and Central Coast
North Beach carries a rotating selection of 8–12 produce farms during its May–November season. The market was established in 2018 and expanded its footprint significantly in 2021. Because the season runs through the peak of California's agricultural calendar — from spring strawberries through summer stone fruit and into fall squash and citrus — the produce selection is consistently strong despite the market's smaller size. Vendor rosters vary week to week.

ABOUT THIS MARKET

The North Beach Farmers Market opened in 2018 — one of SF's newest markets. It runs every Saturday from May through November on Columbus Avenue near the Joe DiMaggio Playground and Coit Tower, in the heart of one of SF's most historically dense neighborhoods. It is volunteer-organized, which gives it an independently community character uncommon among SF's market landscape. The market expanded to a new, larger location in 2021, nearly doubling its footprint.

Unlike year-round markets, North Beach's seasonal nature means it operates during the most abundant months of California's growing calendar — the period when tomatoes are at peak, stone fruit is in season, and the weather makes outdoor shopping appealing. Closed in winter.
